Holding on

My precious Alexandra is four weeks old today. As the sun rises and sets to mark the passage of time each day, I am holding on to every sweet thing about my precious new baby. I know that I will blink and she will be grown.

For today, I’m holding on to each moment, cherishing everything about these wonderful, challenging days. I’m holding on to her sweet newborn smell, her peeling skin, her receding hair line, her cat-like whimpers, her sleepy gaze, her long fingers, her curled up legs. I’m holding on because I know these things will be a distant memory all too soon.

I have so much more that I want to say, but this mama is exhausted. A picture is worth a thousand words, right? I’m so thankful to have some beautiful newborn photos (by Meghan Espinoza Photography) and thought I would share a few here to help me hold on to these memories.
